For more than a century visitors have been visiting Killarney in Ireland to enjoy its amazing views, mountains and lakes, music and culture or to take part in the numerous out of doors pursuits like horse riding, fishing or golf. The remainder are all within about one mile of Killarney’s centre which is walkable for most people. For those too tired after a night in town there’s a very efficient taxi service available. Visitors who drink alcohol shouldn’t drive – the local police enforce the drink-driving laws quite strictly.
There’s very good value to be found in 3 and four-star hotels. The 5 star hotels are reasonable by world standards and offer facilities and luxury peerless anywhere.
Most hotels in Killarney have good child facilities and will serve special children’s meals and they also have a variety of family rooms. Many have creches and child-minding facilities as well as entertainment for children. Pets are allowed in 1 or 2 hotels. All these details can be checked on the booking web sites.
The most hectic time of year in Killarney is Summer as the weather allows for more out of doors activities and there are way more events going on. Hotels are sometimes fully booked during this time and anybody planning to visit in Summer should book well in advance. Visitors to major events in the INEC should also book ahead as accommodation can be hard to get without notice.
If your preferred Killarney hotel is booked out or if you’d like to get slightly less expensive accommodation then Killarney has masses of B and B accommodations. Killarney Bed and Breakfast are smaller and more personal than hotels but typically offer tasty food but no alcohol.
